2011 Light-CT User's Meeting Tuesday April 5th 2011 NJ Commercialization Center of Innovative Technologies
About the Light-CT
LLTech’s Light-Coherent Tomography (CT) provides digital non-destructive imaging of tissues at the cellular level. As opposed to its competing processes:
-
Light-CT™ uses white light (no lasers) to slice/scan under the surface of the analyzed tissue.
-
It does not require tissue preparation or modification, or staining of any kind
-
The images are created within minutes by a non-destructive process whereas histology (Gold Standard) takes several hours, if not days, with a physical “slicing” of the samples.
-
Images offer a 1 µm cellular resolution in all 3 dimensions and can be reconstructed in 3D
As a result, the Light-CT has the potential to eliminate most of the current equipment used in the Pathology Lab, reduce process steps by more than 50%, eliminate low value add FTEs, standardize imaging, offer a platform for rigorous image scoring, and archiving and enable real time collaboration of pathologists around the world to drive better outcomes, whereas the pathologists are in clinical research, stem cell research or in the hospital. By displacing a significant cost infrastructure, digitizing major workflows without modifying surgical or clinical protocols, and offering 3D to pathologists, the Light-CT is a disruptive and sought-after technology
