NonatecTM
The Smallest Bio-Compabible RFID transponder in the World

Overview

The NonatecTM transponder is the smallest biocompatible and Read/Write RFID transponder in the world today. This micro technology combined with the “hands free” lab bench reader/writer or “ergonomic” handheld reader/writer plus the NonatecTM software is the ideal identification and traceability solution for medical devices available on the market today.

Nonatec’sTM RFID biocompatible glass-enclosed transponder is 1 mm (.039 in.) in diameter and 6 mm (.236 in.) in length and weighs 7.15 mg making it the smallest available on the world market.

The transponder transmits at a frequency of 13.56 MHz which allows for easy reading from many types of medical devices in which the RFID would be embedded. The reading distance of the RFID transponder can be up to ˝ inch deep while still having the capability to read and write.

Nonatec’sTM transponder has also faced a battery of tests for chemical resistance, mechanical robustness and thermal characteristics
Nonatec’ s TM transponder is equipped with the newest NXP MFO IC U1 electronic chip that can be read and written on more then 10,000 times while holding up to 64 characters (48 usable for read/write and 16 characters for UID) of data within its 512 bits of memory. Each transponder is equipped with a unique ID that allows for very secure and long term identification of medical devices which may double as a security or anticounterfitting device. The transponder’s extremely small size allows for easy tagging of medical devices.

Along with its small size the availability of read/write data allows for workflow and clinical history to be automatically recognized by the reader in milliseconds.

Designed to meet the most stringent temperature and pressure environments for medical applications, the Nonatec transponder can now be packaged in a clear epoxy resin capsule of 1mm diam x 5 mm long.

This new design allows the Nonatec Transponder to be embedded into Medical Devices, Implants or diagnostic assays.

It can resist the high pressures and temperatures of plastic molding processes or the steep temperatude gradients observed in cryogenic conservation. This Nonatec transponder complies with USP Class VI biocompatibility standards for medical devices and implantation applications.

RFID ReadersNonatecTM offers two types of Bluetooth reader / writer devices, a “hands free” lab bench device and an “ergonomic” handheld device. Both state of the art tools read and write onto the microchip in a few milliseconds and transfer the data to a computer within 165 feet. They are connected to an operating server through Bluetooth encrypted technology, and both have an LCD digital display that contains 2 lines of 16 characters.

The Bluetooth encrypted technology allows for a secure flow of information of the patient’s medical device records.

NonatecTM Software
After the NonatecTM transponder has been read, the reader is Bluetooth capable to send encrypted data to a server which would be equipped with the user-friendly, secure, NonatecTM software. The Nonatec’sTM software goal is to allow for the safe and simple but efficient management of data, this is accomplished through Nonatec’sTM capabilities to
  • Write, modify, delete or add data stored within the transponder
  • Type observations and comments into a notepad
  • Export data from other software programs such as WORD, EXCEL, PDF, or HTML into a report
  • Access to data within the program can be restricted by user identification and different levels of access may be granted to each user
  • Create and print bar codes associated to the Transponder’s unique identification number
  • Read and import the unique identification number programmed into each transponder
